We're patiently waiting for Alejandro to show up, as Jory reads me Gamarna lyrics.
These folk songs are scary as anything sometimes. People being swallowed up by the earth, people transformed into wolves and ripping children from their stepmothers' wombs... I just can't handle this. It's a "learn your lesson, dammit" kind of Northern European folklore. Scaring small children into obedience.
As Jory bellows in a Yiddish chain-smoker's voice, "Obey me or you'll be swallowed up by the earth. True story. Happened to a friend."
You haven't heard from me in a week, and now I'm not going to leave you alone.
In other news, there is odd, vile Pepsi sitting on Jory's counter, that smells sickly-sweet. Absolutely undrinkable. Jory thinks his baby sister may have poured Windex in it.
Just like her, trying to kill everyone in the household. Lydia the Bad Seed.
I'm telling you.
